Llocnou d'En Fenollet<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Llocnou d’En Fenollet<\/strong> borders the towns of Barxeta, Genov\u00e9s and X\u00e0tiva. Its origin in the town and its name come from the Fenollet<\/em> lineage, a family of great importance in the region during the period after the conquest. The current territory of Llocnou was part of the Cap\u00e7ades del Puig<\/em><\/strong>, vineyards planted in Islamic times. The vines were replaced here by the first rice crops in the 18th-19th centuries, and the name of the Plantades del Puig<\/em><\/strong> emerged.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The main historical and economic value of Llocnou d\u2019En Fenollet is undoubtedly the irrigation water. Distributed throughout the term by different branches that belong to one of the most important ditches in the X\u00e0tiva valley, the Puig canal<\/strong>. It is a new orchard built in the years 1458-1465 at the initiative of wealthy farmers and gentlemen of the city who captured the waters of the Albaida<\/em> river, near Alboi, with a weir.<\/p>

Of its heritage, the Sant D\u00eddac d’Alcal\u00e0<\/b><\/em> church<\/strong> dated from the seventeenth century is noteworthy, as well as the devotional panels that we find in its streets, such as the altarpiece of <\/strong>Sant Antoni de P\u00e0dua<\/b><\/em> or the altarpiece of the<\/strong> Mare de D\u00e9u dels Dolors i Crist Crucificat<\/b><\/em>, cataloged as Goods of Local Relevance. Its patron saint festivities<\/strong>, dedicated to Sant D\u00eddac<\/em>, la Mare de D\u00e9u dels Dolors i Sant Roc<\/em>, are celebrated in August.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
